Cute shoes for those of us who can’t deal with high heels
That red high heel emoji is cute and all but where is the one for Docs? Or an adorable cartoon pair of flats? How about a trendy Birkenstock emoji even? Let’s hope by the next round of emojis they add those and throw a bone to the chicas who’d rather go barefoot than put on a pair of six-inch platforms. Flats, sneaks, and other anti-heel shoes are much more commonplace than the Carrie Bradshaw-esque stilettos one might have imagined when it comes to women’s footwear.
As someone who enjoys a lil’ lift in her step once in awhile, I also appreciate the variety of low-heeled footwear that’s seen all over the marketplace these days. There are tons and tons of gorgeous shoes that can be worn for almost any outfit, whether its for a dressier date night, a casual Saturday errand run or part of your workwear steeze. All without heels that are over two inches. Here are a few choice pairs that are must-haves in your closet!
Thank goodness we are entering boot season. American Eagle Outfitters has this pair of glittery silver lace-up booties that if you wore with a 90s-style babydoll dress would give some Angela Chase-meets-Tin Man vibes. I ain’t mad at that.
Nasty Gal has super cute Jeffrey Campbell three-buckled Mary Jane pointy flats that remind me of American Horror Story Coven! So witchy!
These buckled booties from Aldo have a teeny tiny heel and would go great with many different outfits, like a pair of dark denim or a dress and tights. Add a moto jacket and you’ll be sporting some serious rocker bad-girl chic.
I’m loving the comeback trend of construction boots as womens footwear. This is definitely a throwback to Aaliyah style. You probably wouldn’t consider it as first, but this kind of shoe wouldn’t just be a choice for jeans, they’d go well with a casual dress too. And if you somehow find yourself on a hike while wearing these, you’d be good to go!
A pair of high lace-up boots can really make an outfit. Urban OG has you covered with this vegan leather pair, available in either a two-tone black or cognac.
Who says sensible flats should be boring? This pair comes in either red or black suede, and is embellished with a faux patent leather lipstick and red lips! Of course, you should wear crimson-colored lipstick to match.
You don’t need a poodle skirt to rock a pair of saddle shoes. These look awesome whether you’re in a cute dress or some jeans. Roll up the cuff if you are into more of that vintage look.
Of course a pair of cute sneaks has to be in your collection! With these cute black and white Adidas high-tops you’ll make sure all eyes are on your toes.
