This is not a drill: Curly Sue just auditioned for “The Voice”

Some folks have all the talent: Alisan Porter, known for playing the title role in John Hughes’ classic early-nineties film Curly Sue, is not only a fantastic actress—but one heck of a singer, too!

The now-34-year-old took a few years off from showbiz to start a family with her husband—but now she’s ready to enter the spotlight yet again, this time focusing on her true passion: singing. The Broadway vet auditioned for the tenth season of The Voice, and, guys, she’s incredible. Her rendition of the classic Roy Orbison song “Blue Bayou” earned her the coveted four-chair turn from coaches Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Pharrell Williams. We won’t learn until Monday who she chooses as her mentor!

Only after earning the judges’ respect for her singing chops did Porter share with them her acting past. “I was an actress when I was very young. It’s not my passion. This is my passion,” she said. She echoed this sentiment on Instagram:
