Wait, Crystal Reed is coming BACK to ‘Teen Wolf’?
Allison Argent’s dramatic death at the end of Teen Wolf‘s third season pretty much changed the world as we know it. We weren’t just losing a favorite character, but a favorite actress as well. However, the TV gods heard our prayers and decided to bring Crystal Reed back to our screens, not as Allison, but instead as one of her important ancestors, Marie-Jeanne Valet, in a flashback-based episode airing on February 23.
Buzzfeed has the scoop on the whole plan, as well as the pictures that are getting us oh-so-excited for the actress’s return.
“Allison had such an amazing end to her life, I feel like bringing her back in any way might tarnish that beautiful story,” Reed told BuzzFeed. However, when she heard the story, she couldn’t resist. “Basically, [executive producer] Jeff [Davis] just said, ‘France in the 1700s,’ and I was in. He was definitely playing into my emotions. He knows that I have been dying to do a period piece and I love getting my head around different accents and different cultures. He didn’t even have much of a character worked out other than it was based on the Maid of Gévaudan. And I knew the legend, so before really knowing anything further, I said yes.”
Davis revealed a little more detail about this super interesting role, explaining to BuzzFeed she, “was a peasant girl who had fashioned a bayonet onto a spear and was supposedly one of the first to survive an attack by the beast.”
While Reed will be playing someone entirely different than Allison, the two more alike than you’d think. “Valet is another female warrior, and I think one of the great things Crystal does is she gives our viewers, especially our young female viewers, someone to look up to,” Davis added. “We also get to see her wielding a crossbow again!”
While nothing will ever be the same as Allison Argent, this news goes a long way in healing the hole in our hearts.
