The creator of “Wizards of Waverly Place” dreamed up a completely different, slightly scary ending for the show

Last weekend, our hearts stopped when we snuck a peek at Selena Gomez’s Instagram story and discovered that she was hanging out with her Wizards of Waverly Place co-star David Henrie. In the story, Selena and David speculated over their characters’ futures, with the two agreeing that Justin Russo would most likely be married with kids, while Alex would definitely be single.
Sadly, Jake T. Austin didn’t get in on the reunion, but Selena and David wondered if Max would still own the family sandwich shop on Waverly Place. Naturally, fans were freaking out on Twitter, begging the two to get together for a reunion special.
David also instagrammed an adorable photo of the mini-reunion and our hearts are exploding.
Now, weighing in on the matter is series creator, Todd Greenwald, who came up with his own endings for the characters. Unfortunately, the fictional NYC deli is no longer — as Max sold the family business to Jamba Juice. Also, Justin appears to be a serial centaur dater.
Check out Greenwald’s tweets below:
Umm @selenagomez @DavidHenrie…. Max sold the SubStation. It's now a Jamba Juice. #wowp

But they paid him in juice.

Justin can't stop dating Centaurs… he can't quit the freaks. @selenagomez @DavidHenrie

I'm thinking a grown-up theatrical version of #wowp would be kinda fresh. #reboot

Getting in on the action were Austin (who asked fans if they wanted a reunion in 2017) and Russo matriarch Maria Canals-Barrera, who tweeted her love for the thread:
Should there be a "Wizards of Waverly Place" Reunion in 2017?

Love it. https://t.co/HH8pZDx4TE

Austin also tweeted that he’d be game for a reunion and shared his love for his former on-screen siblings.
I'm always down for either. I'll always love @davidhenrie and @selenagomez https://t.co/20uFolOhW0

While we have a ~slight~ feeling that everyone is joking about the Wizards reunion, we can already picture Disney Channel execs pitching ideas to Greenwald and Co. Seriously though, who wouldn’t want to see a Wizards of Waverly Place reunion?
