You’re about to see “cream soda hair” all over your Instagram — here’s why
If you’re thinking about switching up your hair color this fall, the “cream soda hair” trend might be for you. Instead of a bold platinum blonde look, people are switching to a neutral shade of blonde with warmer tones. It’s the perfect dye job for those colder months.
Why is this trend becoming so popular? It helps people stretch the time between hair appointments, because it’s great for blending in darker roots with a lighter dye job. And it’s perfect if you want to warm up your hair color, but you don’t want to completely commit to going full blonde.
Elizabeth Moss’ hairstylist Sunnie Brook coined the term in a Refinery29 interview, and now Instagram bloggers and celebrities have taken to the name and the look.
“It's warm, rich and can be adapted for blondes or brunettes... [it] also creates a sort of glow around the face," Brook said, adding, "This has beige brown and warm gold tones in it. The lighter accents give it a creamy good tone but the lowlights of a translucent (versus pigmented brown) ground the color.
