The two new CoverGirls don’t come from the beauty world, and they’re super inspiring
Each year brings new opportunities for brands to pick new ambassadors to partner up with, and with those opportunities come exciting and surprising changes. Case in point: CoverGirl announced two new ambassadors, and they both fall outside the boundaries of the expected (but also legitimately cool) beauty world.
Let’s take a look at the two women who are the new faces of CoverGirl.
In a press release sent to HelloGiggles, CoverGirl says they chose the two inspiring women because “they believe in pursuing your passion in a way that makes you feel confident and beautiful.”
We can totally get behind this line of reasoning.
While speaking to CoverGirl, Massey shared the way she navigates beauty in the fitness world and how she believes makeup can provide a solid confidence boost:
"There’s a stigma around wearing makeup at the gym, but there are times I proudly rock a full face, especially when I’m filming and want that extra dose of confidence before putting myself out there in front of millions of people. If the flick of a cat-eye, or a brick red lip, gives you some extra motivation and feeling of, ‘I got this,’ why not go for it?"
As for Moreda, she faces similar stigma for wearing makeup on the motorcycle track but embraces the way it sets her apart:
"Pro racing is a challenging profession — physically, mentally, and emotionally. I love what I do, and people are often surprised because the sport of racing is largely dominated by men. Makeup is something I’ve always enjoyed, and it's something that sets me apart when I'm on the racetrack. The only thing you can see are my eyes peering out of the helmet, so that's the part I especially love to play up."
