Courtney Love posted an emotional holiday message about Kurt Cobain on Instagram
On Christmas Day, Courtney Love took to Instagram on to express her love and gratitude for the true meaning of the season: family. She wrote a beautiful letter to her late husband and Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, and her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, via the social media platform. The tribute captions an old photo of the three celebrating Christmas together before Kurt’s untimely death.
The photo shows the late Kurt Cobain and a redheaded Courtney Love in flannel pajamas, while Frances Bean is dressed in a Santa-suit onesie, complete with matching Santa hat. In her moving tribute, Love wrote:
“That Christmas moment in everyone’s lives that you never forget, the one that makes you feel on top of the world, where the greatest gifts are the loved ones you shared that moment with. Well this is mine, I’m grateful to have ever experienced that moment. Merry Christmas Kurt, the greatest true love I’ve ever experienced in my life. You gave me the gift that makes life worth living, our incredibly talented, loving, beautiful and gifted daughter Frances Bean Cobain. Merry Christmas Bean.”
Courtney signed the letter with “Love Mom and Dad,” followed by the heart, Santa, and family emojis.
Kurt Cobain, the frontman of the now-legendary Nirvana, committed suicide in 1994. Courtney Love and Frances Bean Cobain co-produced a documentary about Cobain earlier this year named Montage of Heck, which examines the musician’s life outside of Nirvana.
