Courtney Love is all set to star in a brand new Lifetime thriller series, and we can’t wait to watch
Love her or hate her, you’ve got to admit that the girl’s got talent. It’s been announced that the lead singer of Hole (and famous ex of Kurt Cobain) Courtney Love will star in a Lifetime thriller series, called A Midsummer’s Nightmare. While it’s a surprise, it also kinda-sorta isn’t. While Love might not be known for acting, she’s quite good at it when she appears on screen. In fact, back in 1997, she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in The People vs. Larry Flynt.
Recently, her roles have been few and far between. Back in 2015, she appeared in a few episodes of Empire and Revenge, and in 2014, she popped up on Sons of Anarchy.
But prior to those, one of her biggest credits was the Jim Carrey film Man on the Moon.
So truly, if Lifetime decides to go ahead with the series, it might be pretty darn good. Courtney Love has a great track record in choosing fantastic projects.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the series will be based on William Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The story will be about four lovestruck individuals who find themselves trapped in the woods while attempting a romantic getaway. Instead, they’re left to face their own secrets. All in all, it sounds pretty interesting.

As for Love, it’s been rumored that she’ll be playing a woman that the group finds in the woods. Her role is a bit magical, and quite possibly a little evil.
We know she’s going to totally nail this role, just like she does with every other part she’s given. The series has yet to be officially picked up, so obviously a premiere date has yet to be announced, but stay tuned for more information on this intriguing project!
