Courteney Cox just did ‘Friends’ trivia with Ellen and it was amazing

Today, Courteney Cox stopped by Ellen to promote her new film, Just Before I Go; talk about her experience in the director’s chair; and divulge some details about her upcoming wedding. But because this is Ellen Degeneres we’re talking about, Cox also ended up playing a rousing game of a Friends-themed “Heads Up!” — and yes, it was just as incredible as you’d expect.

In case you didn’t know, “Heads Up!” is Ellen’s version of that party game where you stick celebrity names on your forehead and have other people give you clues until you guess who you are. Unlike the traditional game, it’s rapid fire and doesn’t rely on pulling post-its out of a hat. The categories range across the board from animals to movies to the ’90s and more, and Ellen plays it on her show all the time. You can even download the game to your phone or tablet and see how you fare with your friends (. . . trust me, it’s a great way to pass the time).

So when Ellen announced a new “Heads Up!” category all about Friends, who better to try it outthan Monica Gellar herself? Cox held up an iPad with Friends references like “Central Perk,” while a fan who works on the show offered hints (“It’s the coffee shop you go to everyday!”). Then our girl (usually) guessed the right answer.

The whole segment reminds us of “The One With the Embryos — aka the one where Monica and Rachel play trivia against Joey and Chandler for the apartments— but this time, Cox is playing herself. So, yeah, it’s a Friends-themed TV moment we’re pretty stoked about. Thanks, Ellen!
