Just the coolest makeup transformation we’ve ever seen
As Halloween quickly approaches, it’s hard not to be jealous of those with a keen eye for makeup. Coming from someone who can barely apply eyeliner in a straight line, I am so insanely jealous when someone can do makeup very well. And not just very well, but insanely, crazy good. I’m not just talking about getting that eyeliner in a straight line, but rather the coolest makeup transformations you’ve ever seen. That’s exactly what Italian makeup artist Lucia Pittalis is doing—she’s taking her makeup game up a notch.
Pittalis is able to completely transform her face into iconic film, television, and music stars, from Walter White to Marlon Brando, and her technique is very simple. As she told Huffington Post, “The process is studying the character–watching photos, movies, videos, and saving frames where necessary. I think how can it be adapted on my face. It is a kind of acting process before. I must be that character.” She’ll even turn on appropriate background music to completely immerse herself in the person she’s trying to become.
Then, equipped with her vast knowledge of makeup, she’s able to change everything about her face, right down to the wrinkles. She searches through markets for things like, “wigs and accessories–it is extremely fun searching for good stuff to create a character.” You hear that? You gotta start rummaging through those Target bargain bins for the perfect inspiration for this Halloween.
While I can’t guarantee your creation will turn out anything like Pittalis‘, I can pretty much guarantee it’ll be a blast trying to do what she does. Who doesn’t love a little makeup dress up?
So far, the longest transformation time has been about five hours, for when she transformed into Rocky, with and without the bruises.
Her favorite look so far has been Bette Davis. And if she could transform herself into one celebrity look? David Letterman. Surprising choice, but I can’t wait to see it when she’s done! Here are some others that will blow your mind.
