Conan O’Brien and singer Grace Potter rocked out to “Seven Nation Army,” and it’s the perfect way to start 2017
Whenever Conan comes out with a guitar, people applaud. This time, the multi-talented late night host brought a friend with him to cover a huge hit. Filmed as a web exclusive, Conan and singer Grace Potter covered “Seven Nation Army,” famously sung by The White Stripes. And while the hit song came out all the way back in 2003, Conan proved it’s still a crowd-pleaser, as well as a total classic.
But, uh — of course he changed up some of the lyrics. Hey, Stephen Colbert did the same thing with R.E.M’s “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It,” alongside a disapproving Michael Stipe, but it still ended up okay.
The song was sung to the troops. According to Conan, this version can be referred to as the “Mission Conan version.”

We’re loving everything about this — from the customized “Conan” strap, to the fun stickers that accompany his guitar.
Of course, Grace Potter also adds so much to the song. As the lead vocalist of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, she’s definitely got a lot of stage presence.
And, she’s also good with tributes. Just last month, she helped participate in a show that honored well-known female vocalist Linda Ronstadt, in a talent-packed show called “The Bluegrass Situation Presents: A Tribute to the Music of Linda Ronstadt.”
We’re sure Jack White is loving the twist that Conan and Grace added to his song, and we’re so glad that we got to see it happen!
