‘Community’s season 6 trailer skipped the whole 6 seasons thing and went right for the movie

We did it, you guys! We single-handedly brought Community back from the brink of TV cancellation! OK, so Yahoo Screen helped A LOT, but still. This is a victory for all of us and now we are SO CLOSE to its debut on March 17th. That’s only two weeks away! What better time to give us a brand new Community season 6 trailer? Now all we need is a Community movie for the #sixseasonsandamovie prophecy to come true. But wait, the TV geniuses heard our hashtag prayers and turned their season 6 trailer INTO a movie trailer. It’s a spoof of Avengers: Age of Ultron and it’s awesome.

But let’s do a little catching up first, shall we? Last we saw the study group, they were trying to save Greendale. Safe to say they succeeded in saving the school in more ways than one (you know, how it was miraculously un-canceled and everything). Things are however, not the same as before: Pierce is still dead; Troy is off sailing around the world with LeVar Burton on Pierce’s boat, the Childish Tycoon; and Shirley is now MIA, too, something that will undoubtedly be addressed in the first episode back. This isn’t the same Community from season 1 on NBC. But all of that aside, YOU GUYS, Greendale has been saved!!

Back at school once again are Jeff, Britta, Annie, Abed, Chang and [insert Dean joke here] Dean Pelton. They’ve got some new friends, too, like Paget Brewster and Keith David. The trailer clearly spells out for us that this is the new Dean-mention of Community, and they’ve got our attention. So even if they don’t fulfill our “six seasons and a movie” prophecy, this trailer kind of gets the job done.

The magic begins on March 17 on Yahoo! Screen. No need to clear your schedule to binge, though — the episodes are going to drop once a week on Tuesdays. Fine by us.
