Comedian Patton Oswalt posted this pretty insightful Tweet about Hillary Clinton’s pneumonia

This was a big news week for Hillary Clinton. After a video captured the Democratic nominee stumbling while getting into a car after leaving a 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony in NYC on Sunday, the Internet went wild with attacks on her ability to be an effective President. Critics wasted no time in claiming that she is unfit to serve as POTUS.

Initially, Clinton’s camp said that she felt “overheated” and needed to leave the ceremony early. It was later revealed that Clinton had been diagnosed with pneumonia late last week, but powered through her scheduled appearances anyway. Patton Oswalt took to Twitter Sunday night to defend Clinton, with the following: false

That’s actually a pretty good point, Mr. Oswalt. He went on to voice his political opinions a little more *strongly* in his next Tweet: false

Comments on Clinton’s health are certainly not new, and we can’t help but wonder if her gender has something to do with it, since they definitely help to paint the candidate as somehow weak and feeble (even when her main opponent is older than she is). Especially since Clinton’s longtime doctor, Dr. Lisa Bardack, confirmed her overall health in a previous statement.

“Mrs. Clinton is a healthy female with hypothyroidism and seasonal allergies, on long-term anticoagulation. She participates in a healthy lifestyle and has had a full medical evaluation, which reveals no evidence of additional medical issues or cardiovascular disease. Her cancer screening evaluations are all negative. She is in excellent physical condition and fit to serve as President of the United States.

Let’s not forget what Meryl Streep said at the DNC about women who are the first to do anything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

Grit and grace, y’all. Can we get an AMEN!
