This might be the NEW Netflix, so get ready
As a society, we pretty much love streaming media content, whether it’s movies, TV shows, or music. Netflix has basically become a staple part of our every day lives, and really, who can blame us? Nothing is better than having a wide selection of media you can stream immediately all for a low price. It’s no surprise, then, that other media and entertainment providers are trying to get in on the streaming service sensation. Comcast is REALLY trying to compete with Netflix, in particular, with their new service, Watchable.
According to Tech Crunch, Comcast is hoping to majorly compete with Netflix in terms of streaming online content. Last fall, Comcast premiered their streaming service, Watchable, home to lots of cool media through popular sites like Vox and Vice, but it didn’t quite take off. It’s a hard sell to convince people to use a new app or streaming service versus something we’ve had seemingly forever, like Youtube.
According to Tech Crunch, however, Watchable is now offering exclusive content in an effort to gather more users. If you’re interested in checking out Watchable, the streaming service is available as both an online site and an app, making it pretty convenient to use. So…Watchable and Chill, anyone?
While we’re not exactly media streaming experts, we watch a lot of Netflix, so we think it’s safe to say that we’re looking forward to see how this little competition develops. Because we all know that when companies compete with one another to offer the best services and the best rates, it’s usually the consumers who win out with the best products.
