Get hype, here’s one thing we know that’s for sure going to happen in “Game of Thrones” Season 8
WARNING: Plot details from the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” lie ahead.
Let’s get ready to rumbleeeeeeeeeeeee. Okay, maybe not quite yet, but the long-awaited, highly-anticipated Cleganebowl is coming. At least, according to the Hound. So, #GETHYPE
The Hound made his way to King’s Landing with Dany, Jon, and company to convince #TeamCersei that the Army of the Dead is real, and that the living better team up unless they want to become Wights/White Walkers themselves. And at that meeting, Sandor “the Hound” Clegane came face to face with his zombie brother, Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane. You know, the brother who burned the Hound’s face, in effect instilling a lifelong fear of fire in him.
Fans have theorized for some time that the two brothers would face off in an epic fight called Cleganebowl.
With this King’s Landing confrontation and only one season left for the series, Cleganebowl is as close to becoming a reality as ever.
"Remember me? Yeah, you do" the Hound said to his brother in the dragon pit. "You're even fucking uglier than I am now. What did they do to you? Doesn't matter. It's not how it ends for you, brother. You know who's coming for you. You've always known."
GET HYPE, GET HYPE, GET, HYPE, GET HYPE, GET HYPEEEEEEEE!!!
We’re sure that’s exactly how the face-off was treated in the writers’ room. Or, maybe the conversation went more like this:
"Just as Euron is not someone to wait his turn, the Hound is not somebody who is going to let this person, or thing, or whatever he is now walk by him unchallenged," showrunner D.B. Weiss said of the Hound's motivations in HBO's "Inside the Episode."
Now, all this isn’t a guarantee that Cleganebowl is going down. But, we can’t imagine that the Hound would talk all that shit, and not follow through. So, Game of Thrones fans, brace yourselves for impact.
