Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy are officially expecting baby #2…and soon!
A huge congratulations are in order for Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy! During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show today, April 18th, the actress announced that she’s “seriously preggo.” This will be the second child for Danes and her husband Hugh Dancy. The couple, who married in 2009, are already the parents of Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy, who’s five.
According to Danes, she’s “deep” into her second trimester, meaning that she’s counting down the weeks. We’re surprised that she was able to keep it a secret for so long, but since pregnancy is an intimate experience, we totally get it.
Dancy and Danes first met over a decade ago on the set of the movie Evening. After the birth of their son, Danes opened up to Us Weekly in 2013 about why she’s glad she waited to have children.
"I've always wanted to have kids, but I'm glad I didn't until now. When I was thinking about [working and being a mother] originally, I was really nervous about it," she said. "I think I would make a lousy stay-at-home mom. It just wouldn't suit me. I feel so fortunate, in that I've had this arrow-straight focus that I wanted to act."
Danes has been hard at work on the set of Homeland, which has been on the air since 2011. According to her Instagram, the show just wrapped up filming a seventh season at the end of March.
We hope that Danes has a healthful and happy third trimester, and that Cyrus is preparing for his next big role — big brother.
