Ciara’s new bob haircut is channeling ’90s Posh Spice, and we’re into it
By now, we know the bob is by far the trendiest haircut of summer 2019, with everyone from Michelle Williams, Camila Cabello, Kate Beckinsale, and Lindsay Lohan recently rocking some variation of a bob cut in recent months. And the latest celeb to sport a bob is none other than Ciara, who debuted a shiny stacked bob on Instagram over the weekend. Why yes, it looks incredible.
A bob is one of the most versatile cuts, which is probably why so many celebs are making it work for them. It looks great on every hair color and texture, with a wide range of length options. From a sleek, short bob like Williams’ platinum blonde look to a long bob (aka a lob) à la Lohan, we’re here for every variation.
In a series of photos on August 16th, R&B queen Ciara showed off an impossibly chic, chin-grazing bob, which is stacked in the back and longer in the front. It frames her face and adds tons of volume, while still looking sleek and sultry. We’re getting some ’90s Posh Spice vibes here.
Ciara always brings a fierce hair moment, and lately, she’s been rocking waist-length locks—sometimes they’re pin-straight, and other times she lets her natural curls shine. But this new stacked bob is both modern and vintage, and we love this switch-up on her.
For reference, here’s her most recent waist-grazing, mermaid hair:
And now, here’s her bob, which her longtime stylist César DeLeön Ramirêz noted was a tribute to the ’90s, when he says that “hair, makeup, and fashion was at its best.”
Though we have a feeling the look is temporary—she has since shared photos with her bouncy brunette curls back in place—we love that the ’90s are alive and well in so many fashion and beauty trends, the bob haircut included.
Even if her short cut was temporary, she served TLC-inspired fashion in an Instagram post on Sunday, August 18th, so not only are we calling our stylists, we’re also breaking out our boomboxes and tiny sunglasses in honor of the early ’90s. Thanks for all the beauty and style inspo, Ciara.
