Chvrches ‘Never Ending Circles’ is our new anthem

It’s hard to believe, but it’s already been two years since Scottish band Chvrches released their stellar debut album, The Bones of What You Believe. The debut shot the trio to superstardom, putting them on stages at Coachella, Bonnaroo, and SXSW and earning them opening gigs for the likes of Depeche Mode, Passion Pit, and Two Door Cinema Club.

And now it looks like the band is ready to headline: Yesterday, they released the lyric video for the second single off their forthcoming sophomore album, Every Open Eye. The self-empowerment anthem is heavy on the synthesizers and bombastic drum beats, but it’s still light and uplifting once you factor in lead singer and noted feminist Lauren Mayberry’s delicate but powerful vocals.

“Here’s to never ending circles and building them on top of me,” Mayberry croons in the song’s super-catchy hook. “And here’s to just another no man. If you want another, say you need another.”

In an interview with DIY magazine, the songstress says of the new album, “As much as there’s not a concept or theme on the record, I think there are things that tie it all together. I think there are similarities and differences between the lyrics on both records so I guess once you find your route and get back up to speed it’s easier.”

Well, we’re looking forward to getting back onboard. Every Open Eye hits shelves on September 25.
