CHVRCHES covered Calvin Harris & Rihanna’s “This is What You Came For” and it was AMAZING
We love it when artists pay homage to our faves with unique cover songs, so we’re totally feeling this CHVRCHES cover of “This is What You Came For,” Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s infectious dance collaboration.
Per Billboard, the Scottish electronica band took on Harris and Rihanna’s huge hit during a recent BBC performance, and given the group’s past success with cover songs, we expected their spin on the song to be equally amazing. Needless to say, they didn’t disappoint. It’s not much of a drastic departure from the original with the exception of CHVRCHES singer Lauren Mayberry taking over Rihanna’s vocals. Meanwhile, Harris’ production is swapped for a more laid-back, synthesized sound.
