There’s a Chrome extension that turns “Trump” into “Voldemort”
You’ve probably noticed that Donald Trump is everywhere. His name and face are all over everything, and it’s become very hard to get away from him and his controversial campaign. You can’t even browse the Internet without seeing the presidential candidate’s name pop up over and over again. Which is exactly why one brilliant woman took things into her own hands.
Sarah Xiyi Chen created Trump2Voldemort, a Chrome extension that replaces all mentions of “Trump” with “Voldemort.” Or rather “He-who-must-not-be-named” or “You Know Who.” Even Trump’s Twitter changes to “Tom M. Riddle,” because of course.
Chen’s brilliant creation comes after J.K. Rowling tweeted that “Voldemort was nowhere near as bad” as Trump, of course, she was referring directly to his recent statement. You know, the statement where he suggested we close our borders to all Muslims. Yeah, that statement.
Trump2Voldemort is obviously meant to lighten the mood a little and to remind everyone that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named’s hateful policy ideas shouldn’t be taken seriously. Chen included this poignant statement in the “about” section on the extension: “After downloading, please go out of your way to protect the wonderful Muslims in your life, donate to refugees (Collateral Repair Project is a great organization), and for the love of liberty and freedom do not vote for Lord Voldemort.”
For the love of liberty and freedom.
