Christy Carlson Romano, a.k.a. the voice of the original Kim Possible, is joining the live-action movie

Listen up, Disney kids of the early ’00s, because we have some huge news: On Saturday, August 11th, Entertainment Weekly reported that Christy Carlson Romano is joining the cast of the live-action Kim Possible movie. SO not the drama, right?

In case you didn’t grow up watching the Disney Channel cartoon, Romano voiced the iconic teen hero Kim Possible for four seasons, from 2002 to 2007. Kim Possible followed Kim, a high school cheerleader who fought crime with her BFF, Ron Stoppable (who will be played by The Goldbergs’ Sean Giambrone in the live-action movie). The show was so popular, it even spawned two Disney Channel Original Movies. And now, over a decade later, a live-action Kim Possible movie is in the works. Needless to say, fans of the original series will be STOKED to learn that the O.G. Kim will be included in the project.

So, who exactly will Romano play in the live-action Kim Possible movie? Unfortunately, Disney hasn’t shared any details about her role yet. But we do know who Romano won’t play. We know she won’t reprise the titualr role, because Disney cast newcomer Sadie Stanley to step into Kim’s legendary “mission” green cargo pants. And though it would be cool to see things come full circle and have Romano play Kim’s mom, that role is already taken by Alyson Hannigan.

Romano may have dropped a hint about her return to the world of Kim Possible a few days ago.

Two days before the casting news broke, Romano posted a #tbt pic on Instagram of her posing with a bunch of Kim Possible merch. Sneaky, sneaky.

But wait, there’s more!

Disney also announced that another original Kim Possible voice actor will join the live-action movie cast as well. Patton Oswalt, who voiced villain Professor Dementor in the cartoon, will also return. But just like with Romano, there’s no news on what character he’ll play yet.

Could one of them PLEASE play Rufus, Ron’s naked mole-rat?
