The latest Christopher Robin trailer is here — and watching Ewan McGregor get stuck in Pooh’s tree is delightful
Disney has just released the official trailer for Christopher Robin, and if it wasn’t already clear, you’re 100% going to cry. Like, a lot.
In the trailer, we meet young Christopher Robin living his best life with his Hundred Acre Wood pals, telling Winnie the Pooh he’ll never, ever forget his BFF — not even when he’s a hundred years old. A knowing and mournful tear should be creeping into your eye as we shift to an adult Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor), living a post-war, workaholic, imagination-free existence. He has, it seems, done what he’s promised to never do: He’s forgotten his Hundred Acre Wood friends.
When his truly horrid boss forces him to skip a family vacation to work, a defeated Christopher Robin stumbles into his former honey-loving best pal, who needs his help finding Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and the rest of their old gang. But, it seems Pooh isn’t the only one in need of help as the Hundred Acre Wood crew decides they need to help Christopher Robin reclaim his imagination and abandoned youth. By this point, you should be openly weeping because it’s so moving and bittersweet.
Naturally, hijinks ensue, Pooh drops a lot of undecipherable wisdom, and Christopher Robin even gets stuck in a tree — and sadly, not because he just ate honey — in what’s promising to be a poignant and funny reunion for the beloved A.A. Milne characters.

Hayley Atwell, Bronte Carmichael, and Mark Gatiss also star in the film. Legendary Winnie the Pooh voice actor Jim Cummings reprises his role as the beloved bear, while Chris O’Dowd, Brad Garrett, Nick Mohammed, Toby Jones, Sophie Okonedo, and Peter Capaldi round out the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood crew.
Christopher Robin is slated to hit theaters in August 3rd — and if the trailer is any indication, we’re going to need to bring tissues!
