Did Christopher from “Gilmore Girls” just spill a major spoiler?
Another day, another step closer to the release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. We’re counting down the seconds until the four-part series premieres, although we still don’t know exactly when that will be. Details are very much under wraps, and there’s one thing in particular that fans are dying to know: Which of her three boyfriends, if any, does Rory end up with?
We still don’t know for sure, but actor David Sutcliffe — who plays Rory’s dad Christopher — may have just given us a MAJOR spoiler on the topic. During an interview with USA Today’s FTW! Culture, he was asked who he thinks his TV daughter should end up with. And Sutcliffe said something that has the potential to be VERY revealing.
“I’m not even sure where she’s at, but I’m partial to, who’s the first boyfriend?” he asked.
Dean. Rory’s first boyfriend was Dean. You know, the tall new kid from Chicago who worked at Doose’s market and famously gave her thoughtful homemade gifts like a bracelet and a car. Rory lost her virginity to Dean, but we guess David Sutcliffe was only on set a few times per season, so we forgive him for not remembering.
Here’s the revealing part:
“Yes, Dean. I was going to say Jess, but I mean Dean,” Sutcliffe continued after being prompted with the name. “You know, I liked all the young actors that played her boyfriends. I know they’re not going to end up together but, Rory and Dean seem like a good couple.”
WHOA. Did he just say what we think he did? “I know they’re not going to end up together.” That just happened, people. Maybe Sutcliffe misspoke, or was simply guessing what he thought would likely happen, but still — this could be HUGE for all of the #TeamJess fans out there.
Stay tuned to see what happens!
