Christina Ricci looks unrecognizable in the trailer for her new TV show
Given that we’ve followed her career since she was in Mermaids in 1990, we have to say that Christina Ricci looks unrecognizable in the trailer for her new TV show, Z: The Beginning of Everything.
It was announced last year that Ricci had been cast as Zelda Fitzgerald in Amazon’s Z: The Beginning of Everything, a bio-series following the lives of famed author of The Great Gatsby, F.Scott Fitzgerald, and his partner Zelda. The star then debuted a fabulous new look at the Emmy awards in October.
Now we’ve seen that trailer for Z: The Beginning of Everything, and we have to say it looks EPIC.
What’s more, Christina Ricci looks practically unrecongizable.

Doesn’t she look incredible, though? We love the blonde hair on her, and those ’20s outfits suit her SO well. What’s more, that southern accent is giving us LIFE.
The show, which debuts on Amazon Prime Video on January 27th, 2017, looks like a 1920s dream. Focused around the turbulent relationship between Zelda and F.Scott Fitzgerald, the show hones in on Zelda who was a “fascinating…woman ahead of her time, an artist determined to establish her own identity in the tempestuous wake of a world-famous husband.”
The show has been written by Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin, the pair behind the gritty drama The Killing, so it’s unlikely that we’ll only see the glamor and glitz of the roaring ’20s. Rather, as the trailer showcases, we expect things to be darker and more real.
Ricci isn’t the only star set to portray Zelda Fitzgerald. In fact, Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly going to play the iconic role in an upcoming biopic, Zelda, while Scarlett Johansson is attached to a new movie adaptation of F.Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Beautiful and the Damned, which is loosely based on the author’s relationship with Zelda.
We can’t actually wait to see how all three of these fine actors lend their talents to the role of Zelda. Luckily, we’ll get to see Christina Ricci’s turn rather soon as Z: The Beginning of Everything comes to Amazon Prime Video on January 27th.
