Christina Grimmie’s posthumous album was just announced

There was a lot of tragedy in the music world last year. One of the most shocking was the murder of The Voice contestant and YouTube sensation, Christina Grimmie. As we approach the one-year anniversary of her death, Entertainment Weekly reports that a Christina Grimmie posthumous album is set to be released on June 2nd. The Grimmie family, Republic Records, and ZXL Music are working together on the project entitled All Is Vanity.
The album will include all four songs off Grimmie’s 2016 EP, Side A, as well as the four songs from her last EP, Side B, which was released earlier today on Spotify.
The release date for All Is Vanity coincides with National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Last June, Grimmie was fatally shot while signing autographs after her concert in Orlando, Florida. She was only 22 years old.
Grimmie came in third in the sixth season of The Voice. She wowed judges with her rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” during her audition. Adam Levine, Usher, and Shakira all spun their chairs around before Grimmie even reached the first chorus.
For most of America, it was love at first sight (and first note)!

Grimmie left us much too soon, but despite the circumstances, we’re so happy that we get to hear from her one last time. Listening to All Is Vanity will be a bittersweet reminder that Grimmie was a truly gifted performer.
