Christina Grimmie’s final YouTube video is a beautiful tribute to her life

Before Christina Grimmie charmed America on Season 6 of The Voice, she was a YouTube star, regularly posting inspirational vlogs and videos of herself singing amazing covers. So it’s only fitting that the final YouTube post to her account is a bittersweet tribute to her life.

Grimmie was shot and killed last weekend at a post-concert meet and greet in Orlando, Florida. The fact that she was murdered while interacting with fans makes her death seem even more tragic, because Grimmie felt so passionate about the people who loved and supported her music. The tribute video, which has already amassed almost a million views, is a montage of clips of Grimmie set to the backdrop of her cover of Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up [On Love].”

While it’s more than a little heartbreaking to watch, it’s a beautiful reminder of how many people Grimmie touched and inspired all over the world. At one point, she looks into the camera and says, “You are an extremely unique and individual person. Don’t let those invalid opinions of others just bring you to the pits, okay?”

The video also shows Grimmie signing autographs for fans, auditioning for The Voice, performing and having fun with friends and family. There’s also a moment when we couldn’t help but get a little misty-eyed when she says, “My goal in my career is to inspire people. [It’s] to get my music out there and have people enjoy it and really think of me as an inspirational artist.”

That’s exactly how we’ll remember you, Christina.
