Chrissy Teigen and John Legend “honored” Trump on his birthday — by donating hundreds of thousands to fight his policies

The Trump administration may as well be known as the “inhumane anti-immigration administration” at this point. They’ve gone to great lengths to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), and are attempting to deport thousands of people, splitting up countless families in the process. The government has even ended asylum for victims of domestic violence.

However, the opposition to these policies has been fierce, with politicians, non-profits, and even celebrities speaking out. And today, June 14th, Chrissy Teigen took action in the most brilliant of ways — by co-opting President Donald Trump’s birthday.

Trump turned 72 today, and to “celebrate,” Teigen donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the ACLU, an organization dedicated to protecting the basic civil rights of everyone who resides within our borders.

She continued the post by noting that she and the other members of her family, including husband John Legend, had donated $72,000 to the ACLU to help the organization — and counteract the harm caused by Trump.

"The President celebrates his 72nd birthday today," she tweeted. "On this auspicious occasion, in order to Make Trump's Birthday Great Again, each member of our family has donated $72,000 to the ACLU."

She concluded her message with a call to action, inviting her followers to make their own contributions at www.aclu.org/72 (we’re getting our wallets ready as we speak). And for the cherry on top, Teigen even tagged Trump in the tweet. YES.

Of course, there be haters (as always), but Teigen has it more than covered.
