What Chrissy Teigen really wants to teach her daughter Luna is *so* important
Just when you thought you couldn’t love her anymore, Chrissy Teigen is back in the spotlight after she said some pretty darn inspirational things about raising her newborn daughter Luna. On a recent episode of Lip Sync Battle, Chrissy told an audience member during a panel event that she wants to teach Luna how to be confident in who she is throughout her whole life, regardless of what people might say about her.
“An important thing I’ll try and teach [Luna] is…no matter what, you will find that job, you will find that point in life where people are gonna want you to be exactly the way you are and nothing else,” Chrissy says.
Chrissy speaks from personal experience. Apparently, the Chrissy we know and love today — the fabulous woman who doesn’t filter anything and has an incontrovertible sense of humor — wasn’t always welcomed by others. Back in the day, she wasn’t encouraged to let her bold personality shine, but she’s finally gotten to a point in her life where she knows that being authentic is the only way to live.
“I think that was a big thing for me to learn because in the modeling world, you go about your days pretending to be so sexy and poised and together and it was interesting for me to learn that as you go on and meet…different groups of people…and to be with these people that you love, that they appreciate you for having this personality which may be quirky or weird or odd to you,” she says. Don’t you just want to hug her?!
She’s obviously doing something right, because Chrissy has been on fire lately. She started as a model for Sports Illustrated and Maxim and is still killing it in front of the camera, then she published her best-selling cookbook Cravings, and now she’s a host for Lip Sync Battle and the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. And let’s not forget how she totally owned Piers Morgan in a Twitter exchange earlier this month, where she was as poised as she was fierce. false
Even in the face of sexism and downright rudeness, Chrissy remains her true self, and that’s why the world has come to love her.
“I think I’m excited to teach her to just be yourself and eventually it’s going to pay off,” Chrissy says in conclusion to the audience. We’re so excited to see how Luna turns out!
