Chrissy Teigen clapped back at a photographer who tried to shoot her while she pumped breast milk

Another day, another opportunity for Chrissy Teigen to be a hero — not just for moms, but for women everywhere. She’s never been shy about shutting down haters (especially when it comes to mommy-shaming), but her latest clapback at a photographer who crossed her boundaries while she was pumping breast milk couldn’t be more perfect.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Teigen tweeted and then deleted a post about a pretty horrifying situation that happened to her on Monday, July 9th. According to the report, she was in her car on her way to an event but was taking a few minutes to herself to pump breast milk. That’s when she noticed a flash outside of her car’s tinted windows — a paparazzo was trying to take photos of her while she was pumping, and, you know, topless.

Obviously, this is a deeply uncomfortable situation for any mom to imagine, even one who’s used to living in the spotlight. Human decency would dictate that you not take photos of a woman without her shirt on who’s just trying to feed her kid. But Teigen had the best response ready and waiting.

“Also to the man who took photos into our car as I was topless and pumping you can go f*ck yourself if you sell them,” Teigen’s tweet said, according to ET. “If I wanted to show you my salami nipples I’d show you my salami nipples on my own doing!”

Later, she added:

Oh I am definitely happy to! It’s most of my day 😂 just so creepy to be sitting in a car, dark out, and see flashes and a dude

For moms of babies, breastfeeding is a typical part of their day, and yes, Teigen does proudly share photos of this time in her life often. But as she pointed out in that tweet, it’s beyond creepy to see someone else taking photos of you in a private moment without your permission. It’s vastly different to post the pictures when they were taken by someone you love and you have control of where they end up and when.

Even though Teigen injected her usual sense of humor into her tweet about the situation, that doesn’t make it any less serious. Photographers, take note: It’s never okay to photograph a topless woman without her consent, no matter how much the photos could sell for. Can we please just let moms breastfeed in peace, regardless of who they are?
