Chrissy Teigen left an Outback Steakhouse waitress a HUGE tip — after she ordered a Bloomin’ Onion, of course
Chrissy Teigen is known for being many things. Chef, model, witty TV sidekick, laugh-out-loud-funny tweeter, must-follow Instagram celeb, etc. Now, she’s officially the most generous person on earth too. Teigen tipped an Outback Steakhouse waitress $1,000 while visiting her hubby John Legend’s home state of Ohio last week.
Of course, like any good foodie, Teigen ordered Outback’s most popular menu item, the Bloomin’ Onion. She already has a close relationship with the Aussie-themed restaurant chain. Back in April, Outback Steakhouse flew chefs to Teigen’s house to teach her how to make a Bloomin’ Onion herself. All because the celebrity asked people on Twitter if they knew the recipe. Like we said: She’s a laugh-out-loud-funny tweeter.
If you’re a die-hard Teigen fan (there has to be a better name for that — the Teigresses, maybe?), you know that she also once crowdsourced bananas for a dish she was baking — also via Twitter. So we can assume that if Teigen asks for something on Twitter, she’ll likely get it. Still, Outback’s Bloomin’ Onion, which is a plate of fried onions with dipping sauce, clearly has a soft spot in Teigen’s heart. So it’s no surprise that when she went to the restaurant in Centerville, the model ordered their most famous dish.
What you might not have guessed, though, is that Teigen left her waitress a 516% tip.
Everyone who’s ever been a waitress has likely dreamed of this happening.
The lucky waitress was 21-year-old Mikayla Scott, who, according to ET Online,was pretty intimidated by Teigen. Can you blame her?
"She walked in with all her glam," Scott said to her local news station, WHIO, ET Online reported. "I was so nervous I was going to do something wrong."
Clearly, Scott did everything right, since at the end of the meal Teigen added a $1,000 tip to her $193.81 tab. Talk about generous!
Scott described it as an “awesome experience.” ET Online reports that she told WHIO, “People kept saying, ‘You are going to get a fat tip,’ I was like, ‘Oh my god, praise the Lord.’”
Luna was also in attendance at Outback Steakhouse, and honestly, getting to meet that adorable baby probably would have been enough of a treat for anyone.
Just look at those wittle cheeks.
So cute. According to ET Online, Chrissy and Luna were also accompanied by four friends, who shared appetizers before Teigen got a crispy chicken sandwich and some Pinot Grigio to boot.
Legend didn’t join the gang for their Outback excursion. But from the looks of the singer’s Instagram, he met up with them later.
And for ice cream, no less.
We wouldn’t expect anything else from this wonderful food-loving family.
