Chrissy Teigen opens up about the time John Legend tried to break up with her

We love all things Chrissy Teigen, obviously! And we love her relationship with John Legend JUST as much. So, imagine our surprise when we learned that John Legend tried to break up with Teigen —GASP! The model, TV host, mother, and all-around goddess opened up in the December 2016 issue of Cosmopolitan (available November 8th) about it, and honestly, it just makes this couple even more relatable. Teigen says that Legend, who was busy on tour at the time, regretted wanting a break from the super model (she reminds him to this day) after only one day.

We already knew it, but this story confirms it: Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are major #relationshipgoals, and we’re just happy they found their way back to each other.

Teigen tells Cosmo, "Early on in the relationship, I was on tour with him and he’d gotten sick. He was feeling really bummed and stressed out. He was like, 'I can’t be in a relationship right now.' That lasted for one day. Literally, a day. I knew it came from a place other than us not working ... I always joke, 'Remember when you tried to break up with me?' He’s like, 'Yes, sorry. Big mistake.'

We can’t imagine a time when the two lovebirds, and parents to adorable Luna, weren’t together. Teigen goes on to discuss Legend’s previous dating history and how, in true (awesome) Chrissy Teigen fashion, she doesn’t care what he did before her because they’re together now. Aww!

"I didn’t know it, but John used to be a notorious modelizer. To me, he was the sweetest teddy bear. What’s funny is that I get along with everyone he’s ever been with. I end up really liking them. After I see them, I’ll tell him, 'Oh, I was on-set with your ex today — it was fun!' ... It was before me, so it’s fine," Tiegen adds.
