Chrissy Teigen stands up to criticism from fans who think she’s being a bad mom

There’s no one right way to be a mother, but when you’re in the spotlight, like Chrissy Teigen, your choices are broadcasted all over social media. And like anything on social media, people have opinions about it. New mom Chrissy Teigen is on the receiving end of some pretty harsh backlash after she and John Legend went out to dinner a week — gasp! — after having her adorable baby, Luna Simone.

Chrissy posted some of the harsh comments she was receiving over on Twitter on Sunday. We can’t help but agree that this reaction is over-the-top.

While of course the early stages of motherhood are all about resting and caring for the baby, the recovery stage is also for the mother to slowly adjust back to normal life. After all the hard work Chrissy put into her pregnancy, she definitely deserves a night out. (Also? Some babies sleep a lot.) 

Chrissy and John welcomed baby Luna to the world on April 14th, and announced her birth over on Instagram. Ever since, the couple has been posting nothing but adoring photos.

We think it’s safe to say this family loves their baby a whole lot and that a night out is something that everyone needed. Luckily, just as many people are coming to Chrissy’s defense on social media, and we hope she takes their words to heart.

You do you, Chrissy! No one is being helped when we judge mothers for their pretty harmless decisions, especially at a time when what they really need is support. As long as Luna Simone is loved and safe, we’re happy — and, of course, as long as the adorable Instagrams keep on coming.
