Chrissy Teigen recounted a “jealous meltdown” she once had over John Legend

It’s relatively common for musicians to cast their real-life loves in their music videos. Gigi Hadid played Zayn Malik’s special lady in the video for “Pillowtalk”; Kim Kardashian appeared in Kanye’s “Bound 2”; Jessica Biel danced and twirled with hubby Justin Timberlake in the “Man of the Woods” vid — to name just a few. But what happens when someone else plays that special someone? According to Chrissy Teigen, a “jealousy-fueled meltdown” sometimes ensues.

On July 29th, Music-Entertainment-Fashion Eater, an online magazine, tweeted in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of John Legend’s “Green Light” featuring Andre 3000. Usually supportive of her husband’s career milestones, fans expected model and activist Chrissy Teigen to tweet something encouraging and witty, as she often does.

But instead, Teigen spilled some decade-old tea.

"Fun fact, I had a jealously-fueled meltdown visiting this video set and made an a--hole out of myself to a large group of people," Teigen responded to MEFeater's original tweet. She added, "Oh you want to know more, do you? Let me try to remember. 10 years is a long time!"

After checking for accuracy with Legend, Teigen returned to Twitter to recount the story of how she became insanely jealous of the women cast in Legend’s music video for “Green Light.”

The scenario was all-too familiar, because Teigen had met Legend while shooting a music video (2009’s “Stereo”).

It became too much to handle. Teigen had to GTFO.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but sometimes you just can’t help how you feel, and that’s okay.

It seems alls well that ends well. Teigen and Legend have been together for 11 years now and just recently welcomed their second child into the family. And in case you need a refresher, here’s the “Greenlight” music video that got Teigen fired up.

Girl, we get it. Thanks for keeping it real and giving us the belated 411.
