Chrissy Teigen just explained EXACTLY how celebs lose baby weight so fast

Everyone needs a friend who always keeps it real: someone who tells you there’s lipstick on your teeth, gives thoughtful advice, and most importantly, a pal who explains exactly how celebs lose baby weight so fast. While we don’t know Chrissy Teigen IRL, we think she’s a shining example of this type of friend. Her recent Today Show appearance is further proof that she has the balls to share the unflinching truth about what it’s like to be famous (remember Teigen’s celebrity Twitter Q & A?).

According to InStyle, the woman who publicly admitted to peeing while giving birth told Today that celebrity mothers who revert to their pre-baby bodies in a flash are not, in fact, hip to some covert, magical weight loss method (which was the only explanation we could come up with, tbh).

Shedding the pregnancy pounds, Teigen explains, is a team effort:

"Anyone in the public eye, we have all the help we could ever need to be able to shed everything," Teigen said. "So I think people get this jaded sensation that everybody's losing it so quickly, but we just happen to be the ones who are out there. We have nutritionists, we have dietitians, we have trainers, we have our own schedules, we have nannies. We have people who make it possible for us to get back into shape. But nobody should feel like that's normal, or like that's realistic."

See, this is why we LOVE her. Part of being famous is projecting a certain image, but Teigen’s not afraid to discuss what makes celebrities authentic and relatable. In addition to promoting her career and showing us adorable photos of her baby girl Luna, she constantly uses her platform for making sure everyone understands the dangers of taking everything they see a celebrity experience at face value.

Also, she happens to think there’s way too much focus on the external changes new mothers’ bodies go through instead of the oftentimes harrowing transformations many of them experience:

"I think a lot of the mood stuff that happens afterwards isn't really talked about, whether it's postpartum depression or really just, for me, some days, I wouldn't know how to cope with work and juggle things and still have time for a husband life," she said. "And that was really tough for me, and I think just the mere act of losing those endorphins, I think I was slightly cursed by having such a great pregnancy and being so happy and having so much energy, that just the decline of all those endorphins, and all the prenatals and everything I was on and how healthy I was, naturally made my mood change. There were periods where you get super dark."

We think we can speak on behalf of fans and new moms everywhere when we say we are anxiously waiting on Teigen to write a book on motherhood.
