Chrissy Teigen just revealed the touching reason she and John Legend decided to have a girl

Just when we were thinking Chrissy Teigen and John Legend might be the most adorable expectant parents in the history of the world, they went and upped the cuteness factor. Chrissy recently shared the reason that she and John chose to have a girl, and it’s melting our hearts into puddles of love goo. Seriously, these two give us #RelationshipGoals for life. I mean, look at the sweetness.

Chrissy has talked before about undergoing in vitro fertilization (although really, her fertility issues are none of our beeswax), and she graciously opened up again to PEOPLE to discuss her baby’s gender. “I’ve made this decision,” she said. “Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.’”

She says she wanted to give John the experience of being a daddy to a little girl, and is excited to see how that bond will bring out his softer side. Because, as everyone knows, little girls love their daddies. And in turn, daughters have a tendency to turn their fathers into mush. “How soft they get, how mushy, and excited they get. It’s so cute,” says Teigen. “I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl. That excited me. It excited me to see … just the thought of seeing him with a little girl. I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond. A boy will come along. We’ll get there too, so it’s not like we really have to pick. But he definitely is very lucky to have a little girl. And this girl is going to be so completely lucky to have John as her papa — it’s crazy!”
