Chrissy Metz shared some hints about what’s next for Kate on “This Is Us,” and now we’re even more excited for Season 2

We’re in love with This is Us, and we can’t wait for Season 2. And neither can This Is Us fan favorite Chrissy Metz, who plays Kate Pearson on the show. Chrissy recently shared some juicy tidbits about what’s to come for the lovable Kate. And now, we’re counting down the days until Season 2 premieres on September 26th.

Chrissy had this to say after reading the first script of the new season.

"I was really excited because I feel like Kate is doing things that she's wanted to do for so long, desperately," she tells E! News. When asked if it was related to singing, the actress kept relatively mum. Chrissy said, “A little something."

“A little something” has got us hankering for a whole lot of Season 2 (like all of it) right now.

Dan Fogelman, the executive producer of This is Us, also had this to say about Kate’s transformation in the upcoming season:

"Kate has a monster story this year involving both her singing career, her potential wedding, and then also her relationships with her brothers, with her mother, with Toby, etc.," he said at a For Your Consideration event in Hollywood.

Aha — we’re getting the sense that singing is probably going to play an important role in Kate’s storyline. That’s just fine by us!

And, obviously, we are beyond thrilled for the actress. As we know, an Emmy nomination puts a big spotlight on its nominee. We think it’s time this hardworking professional takes center stage
