Chris Pratt made his first public appearance since announcing his split from Anna Faris

Since Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced their separation earlier this month, we’ve been dreading the day when we see one of them out on the town alone. Well the day came and went. At last night’s Teen Choice Awards, Chris Pratt made his first public appearance since the split. No wedding ring, no Faris, and please, no tears! No tears! Ugh, can you hand us a tissue?

Pratt presented a TCA with his Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 costar, Zoë Saldana, and later won the award for Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi. Pratt and Saldana were also nominated for Choice Movie ‘Ship, but we think we can all agree it’s too soon for shipping talk, people.

In classic Pratt fashion, he accepted his award with a funny story about how he made it to where he is.

"Many years ago, when I came to Los Angeles," Pratt said, "I came from Hawaii and I had this blonde hair and a tan. I met an agent, because I really wanted to be an actor and get an agent, and he said, "wow bro, you must surf." And I said, "uh, yeah." And that was the first of many lies that I told to get to where I am today."

Pratt also announced that Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director, James Gunn, is returning for a third Guardians film, so get amped.

Yes, there is a cloud hanging over Pratt and Faris right now, but we think everything will end up being okay. It’s up to us to give them privacy and time to heal and realize that they are still just people trying to figure life out like the rest of us.
