Hold onto your butts, Chris Pratt says he’s signed on for the ‘Jurassic World’ sequel!

Raise your hands if you saw Jurassic World this weekend. A lot of you should be raising your hands, because, according to Forbes, the movie is set to make a near-record $204.6 million this weekend (as in, it fell only a couple million dollars short of beating the first Avengers movie for “Best Weekend Opening of All Time). And of course, we all know what happens when a movie does really, really, really well- we get a sequel!

Of course Jurassic World IS a sequel, the fourth in a line of movies that began with Stephen Spielberg’s 1993 classic Jurassic Park. And it looks like there’s going to be a 5th movie in the series, AND AND AND it looks like our majorly beloved Chris Pratt, who is currently starring in Jurassic World, will also be staring in the franchise’s next installment.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, when asked if Pratt is signed on to do another Jurassic World, Pratt awesomely replied, “I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something.”

We are TOTALLY down. Pratt is great in the film as an ex-Navy dude who now works at Jurassic World as a Cesar-Millan-type Dog Whisperer for velociraptors. Pratt nails the role and we are all about seeing where this character goes next.

In the same interview, Pratt very sweetly talks about what a lifelong fan he is of the Jurassic franchise:

“I was 13. It started when I saw the movie trailer on TV. Like the sound of the feet thundering and the water shaking on the glass and the T. rex making the sound the T. rex makes and then Jurassic Park by Steven Spielberg. I was like ‘Oh my God I have to see that!’ I saw it on opening weekend twice. It just captured my imagination and swept me up. I was one of the kids who in that generation who saw that movie. I can’t think of anyone who’s like I haven’t seen Jurassic Park.”

Throughout his career, as EW points out, there are all these spooky moments that connect Pratt to Jurassic Park, like that behind-the-scenes footage video from Parks and Recreation’s second season, in which Pratt pretends to get a text from Spielberg about joining the Jurassic family and Pratt hilariously texts him back that he’s so busy with Parks and Rec behind-the-scenes shooting that he would “have to get back to [Spielberg] about Jurassic 4.”

Of course, now Parks and Recreation is concluded and Pratt is free to do all the Jurassic sequels, all 38 of them. Hold onto your butts, everyone!
