Chris Pratt doesn’t want to talk about Avengers: Infinity War, because he’d much rather talk about fishing

Hello, did you know that Chris Pratt has a brand new movie coming outAvengers: Infinity War — THE Marvel event to end all Marvel events — lands in theaters on Friday, which means that Pratt is back as his wise-cracking, galaxy-saving self as Star-Lord. But, unfortunately, he doesn’t want to talk about Avengers: Infinity War and Star-Lord right now, because he’d much rather talk about fishing.

During the Avengers: Infinity War press conference on April 22nd in Los Angeles, Pratt was asked a pretty direct question about the new movie: How does Peter Quill react to seeing Earthlings after being away ~in space~ for the last 30-something years? He’s about to meet up with Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Dr. Strange, so how weird will that be for him?

Instead of dancing around the question — as so many of the other Avengers did during the press conference, because #NoSpoilers – Pratt decided to just talk about something else completely. Fishing. After being handed not one, but three different microphones (it’s a visual joke), Pratt remarks that people should just see the movie instead. So would you care to talk about fishing for a bit?

"That’s a good question," he tells the crowd. "It borders on...It might be best for you to see it. So I’m going to talk about bass fishing, okay? April, as you know, is a big month for bass fishing. Right now my pattern is like a eight and a half inch salamander...I'll use like a gamakatsu hook with a Texas rig...fishing's slow. You have to fish slow."

So how much fishing will Pratt do in Infinity War? He’s not saying anything about that either. We’re just going to have to wait and see what kind of fish Star-Lord hooks (is that a fishing term??) in when the latest Avengers movie hits theaters on April 27th.
