We’ve got the first pic of Chris Pine in ‘Wonder Woman’ and OMG

A new photo from from the upcoming Wonder Woman movie has surfaced, and it features Chris Pine in his alleged new role as Wonder Woman’s boyfriend. And he looks amazing. While Wonder Woman isn’t set to come out until June 23rd, 2017, it seems like the cast can’t wait any longer to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse.

Actor Said Taghmaoui posted the photo on Instagram, then took it down almost immediately with no explanation as to why. But luckily, someone caught it before it was too late. In the photo, Pine and Taghmaoui are posed in front of a trailer wearing clothes from what looks like World War I era, which would make sense, as rumor has it that the film will be taking place over multiple time periods.

There’s not a whole lot that we know about the upcoming superhero flick. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice — where the new Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, is first introduced — hasn’t even been released yet. But still, people are losing their minds for Wonder Woman. Finally, a super hero flick with a female as the leading role!

And the demand for female leads in superhero depictions is only getting stronger as evidenced by the new insanely popular television show Supergirl. The show was immediately a hit for CBS. In fact, its pilot scored the highest rating for season premieres this fall. Having a female-led superhero television show succeed so well in the ratings could change the landscape of superhero depictions in television and movies-— permanently.

I guess we’ll just have to wait until 2017 to see Wonder Woman kick some butt, and until then, we’ll have to settle for this dreamy photo of Chris Pine hanging out on the sidelines. (Which to be honest, we’re perfectly okay with.)
