Oh yes, hold your hearts, Patty Jenkins hints that Chris Pine will be back for “Wonder Woman 2”
The best news of the week is here, and it has to do with Chris Pine obviously. After a stellar performance in Wonder Woman playing spy Steve Trevor, it turns out director Patty Jenkins says Chris Pine could be back for Wonder Woman 2. We’re kinda wondering how in the world they could make that work but let’s not ask too many questions!
If you’ve seen Wonder Woman (it’s shattering box office records, so of course you have!!) then you’re probably still mourning the loss of Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor and assuming he won’t be back in any future films.
But, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins hasn’t ruled out Steve Trevor somehow returning in the future. It is a superhero movie after all. They could probably figure out some totally reasonable way to bring him back if they wanted. Here’s what Jenkins told Fandango:
"All I can say is it was a dilemma," Jenkins said regarding Steve Trevor's fate at the end of the film. "It's something I hope we don't talk about in the public [because] I want people to see, but it's very hard to know which characters will be in the next movie because of the time period, so it's a big question."
Jenkins has already said she’d like Wonder Woman 2 to be set in America, which is where Steve Trevor is from! If they could find some way to bring Sir Pine back for more movies, we’d certainly enjoy it. The dynamic between Diana and Steve was pretty perfect. But we’ll probably have to wait awhile before we know anything. Until then, Wonder Woman will be back in the Justice League movie next year.
