There are pictures of Chris Pine rocking a fanny pack on the set of Wonder Woman, and honestly, we’re shook

Unlike Emmy season, which only feels like it goes on forever, the For Your Consideration campaign for Best Hollywood Chris is never-ending, reigniting every time a Chris does something notable, adorable, or re-emerges from hiding. As of late, the Marvel Chrises — Evans, Hemsworth, and Pratt — have been soaking up a lot of the Chris attention due to their joint starring roles in Avengers: Infinity War, which has even been dubbed the most ambitious Chris crossover event in history…or something like that.

But after months of keeping a low-profile following his turn as Hot Scientist Dad™ in A Wrinkle in Time, the sole DC Chris has finally reappeared…and consider his FYC campaign officially rebooted!

Despite meeting a very tragic (presumed) demise at the end of Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. nearly brought Earth to a standstill when it revealed that Pine would be returning for the ’80s-set sequel as WWI American spy Steve Trevor. But in addition to the news that Pine would, in fact, be returning for Wonder Woman 1984, Warner Brothers also released the first production photo of a very much alive Steve Trevor in the ’80s, and as we’ve previously reported, he’s still looking very much like a Disney Prince *swoons around a waterfall to “Agony” from Into The Woods*.

But while we thought this production still was all we needed to hold us over until November 2019, the thirst Gods rewarded us with the gift we didn’t even realize we needed: Chris Pine in a fanny pack.

The Rock could never!

Pine and Diana Prince herself, Gal Gadot, were recently spotted in costume on the set of Wonder Woman 1984 in Washington D.C. — and boy were they serving lewks. While Diana looks dressed for success, it appears our boy Steve Trevor is diving headfirst into the ’80s with the tracksuit/fanny pack combo. Sorry Marvel, but this is truly the most ambitious crossover in history.

Naturally, Twitter could not get enough of Chris Pine in a fanny pack:

Sure, there are plenty of optics to work out around how Steve inexplicably survived certain doom and found himself alive and well (but very confused) six decades after his supposed death — Evans and the Chris-adjacent Sebastian Stan may be able to provide a few pointers on that front — but we have plenty of time to ponder that. We’re busy living in the present, and right now, the present is living for Chris Pine in a fanny pack.

Chris Pine will (hopefully) grace our screens in a fanny pack when Wonder Woman 1984 is released on November 1st, 2019.
