Chris Martin did a tribute to George Michael at a London homeless shelter, and our hearts are melting

We love it when one good deed is, really, two good deeds in disguise. Being the sweetheart that he is, Coldplay singer Chris Martin sang a George Michael song at the Crisis shelter in London. Of course, that song was “Last Christmas,” made famous by Michael’s legendary band Wham!

Not only is it the perfect song to honor Michael (albeit a pretty sad one, if you think about it) it’s absolutely perfect for Martin. Chris Martin made a wise choice not to bring any press along with him — in fact, this sweet deed was noted on Instagram by a lucky individual who happened to witness it all taking place.

Of course, the fan reaction was nothing short of incredible.

Not only did Martin sing a few songs, but he also helped prep coffee and tea.

Of course, someone managed to take a video of the “Last Christmas” moment for the shelter’s Facebook page. It’s pretty heartwarming, if we do say so ourselves.

George Michael would have absolutely loved it.

Around the holidays, the Crisis Center runs the “Crisis At Christmas” program, which helps connect 10,000 volunteers to help out at their shelters in Birmingham, Edinburgh, London, Newcastle, and Coventry. Eligible volunteers donate their time, their money, and their skills to help people in need — which, really, is the heart of the holiday altogether.

For those who live in the UK, there are plenty of amazing volunteer opportunities that happen quite often at the shelter. Not only does it feel great to truly make a difference and lend a hand, hey — you might even accidentally bump into Chris Martin while you do it.
