The first pic of Chris Hemsworth in ‘Ghostbusters’ and wowza

While gazing upon the first picture of Chris Hemsworth suited up for Ghostbusters, lots of thoughts come to mind. Some of them include, but are not limited to: What is he doing? Where is he going? Why is he on a motorcycle? What’s on the back of the motorcycle? Why isn’t he wearing a helmet? Why is he wearing a Ghostbusters jumpsuit? And most importantly, WHO is answering the phone back at Ghostbusters HQ?? Chris, you have one job, and it’s to be the lady Ghostbuster’s trusty receptionist.

OK, clearly the role of the receptionist — who was played in the OG Ghostbusters by Annie Potts — has been expanded a little bit. Clearly, the ladies have decided to let Hemsworth out of the fire station, and allow him tag along for some Ghostbusting missions. Now, let’s take a moment to really appreciate the fact that they’ve let him tag along on whatever they’re doing.

Look at that big happy smile on his face. Look at the way his hair is blowing gently in the wind. Look at the way those glasses perfectly frame his face, and give a nice little nod to Potts’ Janine Melnitz, who always wore glasses. Also check out his souped-up bike, that appears to be full of all sorts of Ghostbusting gadgets.

It also looks like Hemsworth’s name might be Kevin. It also looks like the name Kevin (if it even is Kevin) has been written on a piece of duct tape and stuck onto his jumpsuit. Which is different from the other jumpsuits we’ve seen that actually have name written on patches. Might this mean that Hemsworth throws on the jumpsuit as a spur-of-the-moment thing? Is he riding in to help save the day? (Or steal our hearts?)

Is it obvious that I’ve been staring at this picture for a very long time?

So while it’s still hard to tell a whole lot about Hemsworth’s role, it looks like he’s having a grand old time doing it. But he really should get back to his desk back at HQ, because calls could be coming in.
