Chris Hemsworth gave an unsuspecting hitchhiker a ride in his helicopter

In case you didn’t know, Chris Hemsworth is an IRL superhero. Over the weekend of October 19th, the actor gave a hitchhiker a ride in his helicopter after he spotted him on the side of the road in Australia. The tourist was certainly in the right place at the right time and was given the ultimate surprise when Thor himself pulled up.

Musician Scott Hildebrand was standing by the side of the road in Brisbane after traveling from Mexico, and was hoping to catch a lift to Byron Bay (a popular surfing spot). As luck would have it, Hemsworth, his brother Luke, and his good friend, Luke Zocchi, were also headed there…so they picked Hildebrand up and offered him the ride of his life.

"Picked up a hitchhiker, wasn't a serial killer which we were stoked about," Hemsworth wrote in a video posted to his Instagram account.

In the clip, an unsuspecting Hildebrand climbs into the car with his guitar and continually exclaims “no way” as he’s driven to the waiting chopper. He’s then seen sitting in the helicopter in utter disbelief (and with the biggest smile on his face). But like all good things, the ride came to an end, with the Avengers superhero telling his new mate, “Alright, Scotty, the dream’s over. Back to the normal hitchhiker life.”

Moral of the story: You shouldn’t hitchhike (because it’s dangerous AF), but if you do, you might get outrageously lucky.
