Chris Hemsworth has a brand new movie coming out — but the internet can’t figure out if it’s real or not

There are plenty of Hollywood Chrises out there for you to choose from. If you’re looking for a down-to-earth farm boy, Chris Pratt is your man. Want the strong, sensitive type? Go for Chris Pine. The Chris who fights evil forces both in movies and IRL? That’s Evans.
But if you’re looking for someone both enigmatic and hot as hell, look no further than Chris Hemsworth. And looking for a jokester with big comedic chops? Also Hemsworth — and it’s because of this no one can figure out if his latest new movie is real or not. Because, you know, he’s already so mysterious that when you factor is in a (probably) elaborate prank, it’s hard to tell because you WANT it to be real.
This new Hemsworth movie in question, which is being advertised as Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home, certainly has an all-star cast going for it. Along with Hemsworth, Margot Robbie, Hugh Jackman, and Ruby Rose are all rumored to be part of the “cast,” although it’s actually pretty likely that the film is just a large-scale advertisement from Tourism Australia — and perfectly timed for the Super Bowl.
Because yes, the teaser for the “movie” seems so outlandish and ridiculous, it simply can’t be a movie. The Brisbane Times has actually reported that it literally is a giant ad, explaining, “Industry sources have indicated the teaser – featuring US actor Danny McBride – is part of an advertising campaign for Tourism Australia, set to air during next month’s NFL Super Bowl.”
But like, come on, look at this trailer!

Seriously, that’s one heck of a commercial, y’all. And because of the high quality of the trailer and the A-list cast, a lot of Twitter users were understandably confused about whether or not it’s an actual movie.
So Margot Robbie (and, uh, Ruby Rose) are appearing in #DundeeMovie too… are there any famous Aussies NOT in this thing?! pic.twitter.com/Rm8rQvunLq

Is it a movie? Is it not a movie? At this point, I'm confused. Also, where the heck is Paul Hogan aka Mick Dundee? #DundeeMovie https://t.co/DnndJewZCw

Fake film or not, the #DundeeMovie has one of the greatest UX jokes of all time on its landing page. pic.twitter.com/sl9M3K91gK

So, even if Hemsworth’s newest movie isn’t actually a movie, it’s certainly gotten people talking. But it’s still kind of sad that that cast won’t actually be in a full-length film together because that would have been totally ripper, man.
