Remember that movie about Chris Evans trapped on a train during a snowpocalypse? It’s gonna be a TV show
Seems like somebody at TNT is a huge Hamilton fan — or maybe an aficionado of Chris Evans post-apocalyptic films. Either way, we win! Remember that kinda insane movie starring Chris Evans from 2014, Snowpiercer? It’s coming to TV. And even more exciting, Hamilton star Daveed Diggs is joining the cast. Wait, can we make some singing happen in this, please?!
If you need a quick refresher on the movie, Chris Evans is trapped on a train during a snowpocalyse. That’s really the beginning and end of it. You may remember it. According to Entertainment Weekly, the TV adaptation is “set seven years after an apocalyptic ice age leaves Earth as a frozen wasteland” — which kinda sounds possible at this point. The plot will center around those who survived and now “inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe.” So yeah, that sounds scary! And what will we do without Chris Evans there?!
Don’t worry, guys. Chris has given his thumbs-up approval of the new show:
Cool!! https://t.co/afnbOcFg67

Chris is a man of few words, so we’re assuming that “Cool!!” is his equivalent of us freaking out because we love Daveed Diggs so much.
In the show, Daveed will play Layton Well, who is “a prisoner barely surviving the harsh conditions in the tail end of the train. A quiet thinker who spends his days sniffing the industrial-waste-turned-drug Chronole and tending to his cage full of rats, Layton becomes a reluctant participant in a struggle that could upend life on the train.”
Ok, so sounds pretty bleak. Maybe no singing in this one. But Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson will be directing, so maybe we’ll at least get some fun cape jokes thrown in.
