Chris Evans Had the Perfect Response to His Accidental NSFW Photo Post

Now that he has our attention...

On Saturday, September 12th, Chris Evans made a mistake that unfortunately many can relate to—he accidentally posted a NSFW photo to his Instagram Story. Luckily, what could have become a nightmare situation was spun into a positive by Evans himself. He addressed the accidental photo for the first time yesterday, September 14th, and he used the opportunity to direct attention to something much more important.

Evans tweeted, Now that I have your attention….VOTE Nov 3rd!!!

Of course, the Knives Out star would be remiss if he didn’t include a couple of emojis that perfectly expressed his embarrassment—face palm, to be specific.

Evans, who plays Captain America in the Marvel films, is heavily involved in American politics and discourse, having founded A Starting Point, a fact-based bipartisan education portal that covers basic political topics and policies. So, maybe the leaked nude was a political strategy to get people to listen up and vote.

Or…it was probably a simple mistake. Evans doesn’t seem like that type to make such a loud statement.

Evans’s Avengers costar Mark Ruffalo responded to Evans’s tweet stating that there’s a “silver lining” to his current scenario.

Billy Eichner responded to the tweet with a link to Vote Save America 2020, adding the comment, “Some hot pics here.”

The saving grace to Evans’s nude photo incident was that he leaked his own photo totally by mistake. It wasn’t sent out into the ether by some malicious, blackmailing source as is the case with so many other nude photo leaks. And fans quickly came to his support by flooding Twitter with totally “suitable for work” pics of the star, instead. Plus, as Chrissy Teigen replied, it’s easier than you would think to post your own NSFW pic with today’s technology.

Hey, nudes happen, people. Evans has shown us how to use them for good. You can check your voter registration status, as Evans would want you to do, at Vote.org.
