Chris Evans scared the internet with this tweet about his dog
The internet is a strange place. Benign posts can sometimes spin out of control rather quickly. Take, for example, Chris Evans’ recent tweet about his dog. Evans is currently shooting the film Red Sea Diving Resort. Sadly for him, he could not bring his beloved pooch, Dodger, along.
He posted a tweet with a photo of his dog and the caption, “Really missing this guy right now.
Twitter users far and wide mistakenly thought the caption meant his dog had passed away and could not help but feel for the actor. Condolences started rolling in, and the actor was forced to post a clarification tweet. Oops!
But, first, let’s feast our eyes on the original tweet. It’s absolutely adorable.

And here’s Evans’ response to everyone’s concern.
To be clear, he's alive and well, just thousands of miles away for the next couple months.

And here’s how the internet responded to Evans’ response. (If you learn nothing else, the internet always has a say.)
Fuck dude I was like crying.

*aggressively wipes away tears* No, yeah, I knew that.

So, what magical forces brought the pair together?
The actor met his beloved pup while shooting the film Gifted. Evans has a huge soft spot for dogs.
“One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel, Evans told People. “I foolishly walked in and I thought, ‘Are these actor dogs or are these real up for adoption dogs?’ And sure enough they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn’t belong there. I snagged him and he’s such a good dog. They aged him at about one, he acts like a puppy, he’s got the energy of a puppy, he’s just such a sweetheart, he’s such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, he’s full of love.
Aw, yes! We know that feeling. Love at first sight. We’re happy to know Dodger is healthy and happy. We look forward to seeing many more photos of him.
