Chris Evans shared a video of the first time he met his rescue pup, and now we’re crying buckets of happy tears
It seems like every day, there’s a new holiday to celebrate. And today, April 11th, is one of our favorites: National Pet Day! We’re spending the day double-tapping all of the adorable dog and cat pics we see in our social media feeds. One of the best National Pet Day posts so far comes from Chris Evans, dog dad to his rescue pup, Dodger. Evans posted a video of the first time he met Dodger, and it has crying buckets of happy tears.
If you follow Evans on Twitter, you’re probably familiar with Dodger. Evans posts sweet pictures and videos often, gushing about how much he loves his furry four-legged friend. But today’s National Pet Day post takes the cuteness to the next level. In the heart-melting video, he walks up to Dodger’s cage, and it’s clear the two are about to embark (get it?) on a beautiful life journey together as best friends. The pup tries to contain his excitement, but can’t stop himself from licking Evans’ hand and trying to shake. FRIENDSHIP.
“This is the moment we met,” Evans wrote on Twitter. “He was trying so hard to stay seated even though he desperately wanted to get out. I knew right away that he was coming home with me, so I took this video to always remember our first hello. Rescue dogs are the best dogs!!”
We hope you’re ready for this National Pet Day cuteness between Chris Evans and Dodger.
